My partner and my senior capstone project’s goal was to create an informative experience so that participants are able to be immersed into an experience similar to that of someone with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. In addition, we will educate our audience on statistics and personal experiences through audio and animation. This will allow these people to better understand the significance of this mental illness so that they can better emphasize and support their pears.
It is our goal to create a realistic and authentic experience that demonstrates that visual and audio cues during an anxiety attack. Wr created a real life scenario and allowed participants to navigate a looping project video while standing in a blacked out condensed structure.
In addition, we created a short informational animation video for educational purposes about the disorder.
The anxiety room is the structure me and Niamh Gordon built and designed in order to create a blacked out space for individuals to step into our anxiety attack simulation. The room was designed to trigger a claustrophobic atmosphere while wearing sound proof headphones to watch the simulation video being projected on the inside. On the outside of the simulation room our animation video was playing on a loop.
